Groza Vasilica-Monica este cercetător ştiinţific gradul III, dr. în cadrul Centrului de Cercetări Antropologice „Olga Necrasov” al Academiei Române – Filiala Iaşi.

Absolventă a Facultății de Biologie, Universitatea „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” din Iaşi, cu masterat – secția Genetică moleculară și doctorat în cadrul aceleiași facultăți. Domeniul de cercetare: Paleoantropologie, activitatea științifică axându-se în special pe cercetări privind unele populații medievale din estul României.

Activitatea de cercetare se reflectă în 62 de articole științifice publicate în reviste de specialitate, trei cărți, trei capitole de carte, 50 de prezentări la conferințe internaționale și alte 86 de comunicări la diverse manifestări științifice, cu participare națională sau internațională (ȋn calitate de autor principal și coautor).

Membru în echipa de cercetare din cadrul unor proiecte.

În anul 2017 – laureat al Premiului Daniel Danielopolu al Academiei Române pentru cartea Cercetări paleoantropologice privind populația Iașului medieval. Referire specială la necropola din secolul al XVII-lea de la Curtea Domnească, publicată ȋn anul 2015 la Editura Universității „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” din Iași.
